Overview
The Sikh community left behind a strong architectural and cultural footprint during the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly under the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1799–1839). Saad Zahid has investigated and recorded key Sikh heritage locations, including gurdwaras, samadhis, and havelis in areas such as Nankana Sahib, Lahore, and Gujranwala. Concentrated primarily in Punjab, these sites illustrate the religious, political, and cultural life of Sikhs in the region. His documentation underscores the historical importance of these sacred and princely places in Sikh heritage.
