Overview
The Hindu heritage of this region extends back more than a millennium, with significant development during the Hindu Shahi period (9th–11th centuries). Over this era, countless temples, dharamshalas, and traditional havelis were constructed. Saad Zahid has surveyed numerous Hindu heritage locations, including the Katas Raj temple complex (Chakwal), Tilla Jogian (Jhelum), and several lesser-known sites. He has also studied historic Hindu quarters that once thrived in urban centers across Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Through his work, the memory of a once-thriving and peaceful Hindu presence in the region is kept alive.
